Iceland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2000
Iceland was represented by August & Telma, with the song '"Tell Me!", at the 2000 Eurovision Song Contest, which took place on 13 May in Stockholm. "Tell Me!" was chosen as the Icelandic entry at the national final Söngvakeppni Sjónvarpsins on 26 February.
Final
The national final was held at the studios of broadcaster RÚV in Reykjavik, hosted by Hjálmar Hjálmarsson and Hera Björk Þórhallsdóttir. Five songs took part with the winner being chosen by televoting. The winning song was performed in Icelandic as "Hvert sem er".[1]

At Eurovision
On the night of the final August and Telma performed 12th in the running order, following Cyprus and preceding Spain. At the close of voting "Tell Me!" had received 45 points (including a maximum 12 from Denmark), placing Iceland 12th of the 24 entries. The 12 points from the Icelandic televote were awarded to contest winners Denmark.[2]
